For clinicians & researchers,
educators & advocates,
policy makers & people whose loved ones are affected by mental health issues to
- influence the way the DSM
is understood, and
- rethink the framework
and mitigate potential
harm from DSM-5
DSM-5 takes a few baby steps forward but overall it is a deeply flawed document.
Together, we can work on the trees or the forest — or both. The opposition to this new framework is so strong and the controversy so intense, that Right Now might be the time to begin developing an entirely new way to organize and classify mental health diagnosis.
We hope that this MOOC can be part of the Re-Thinking process.[click to continue and comment]
